Hi bigbeardedbuddy, Thanks for your entry, In fact with Groove on Windows 10, many features may be different comparing with previous players versions.

How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Dr DaveSmith. In reply to Dr DaveSmith’s post on August 16, I have VLC as well, have had it for quite a while. I originally got it in order to play. Was just curious to see if they had any plans for visualizations on Groove. In reply to bigbeardedbuddy’s post on August 16, Ray Sunshine Burns. In reply to HGN’s post on September 1, Didn’t even realize was still in!

Thanks, guess I should’ve checked eh? I solved the whole thing!! Went back to a reliable OS Many users therefore have to switch to alternative applications such as the very old Winamp, MediaMonkey or iTunes.

That is a shame, because Windows Media Player is already a “multi-talent” among media players. Much cannot be missing from the functionality of the visualizations. Support should be able to dispense with a small update. There should be a lot of users who are similarly disappointed, so please post, maybe that will help. I am also having the same problem on TWO different Windows 10 machines.

A friend of mine also complained that he was having this problem. I wish that Microsoft would admit that they have a problem and fix it so it works like it did before Windows 10 was updated.

I am having the same exact issue on TWO different Windows 10 machines. They broke it in one of the updates. I understand visualizations are not a mainstream feature these days, but many of us have used it for years. I absolutely love the visualizations especially the “Alechemy – Random” and “Battery – Cominacha” as these make listening to music on the living room TV so much more enjoyable to have a full screen visualization ,something I can do for years, but now the visualization will STOP when the first track ends.

Only if you manually press Next will it resume visualizations. This is clearly a bug from a recent update that needs to be addressed. I was told by someone on Microsoft Community to post here, as I’m having the same problem since the latest feature update which I did Wednesday. I did resets etc but though not a hugely important thing, irritating that it’s gone wrong. Having the same problem myself. Must be a compatibility issue with one of the Windows updates, as it used to work.

I love the visualizations. Too bad they won’t quit stopping with every song. Skipping a song either forward or backward re-sets it temporarily, but then it breaks on the next song.

I gave up on WMP. Microsoft has essentially ditched the WMP platform for their new Groove player. My suggestion is to uninstall WMP, completely remove it.

Get rid of Groove player while you’re at it. It’s trash. Now instead use Foobar NOTE: Foobar is highly customizable, which means it will take some time to learn it and get it set up.

Exclusive effect combinations FlowField Unions. Album cover art and track titles. One year of free updates. G-Force Screen Saver. Support for multiple media players. Standalone : visualize CDs, internet radio, auxiliary inputs, microphone, etc. Already purchased G-Force? Although I haven’t found a solution, I have, I think, found the cause – it appears that when the first track finishes, Media player doesn’t switch the audio feed to the visualisation to the next track, but seems to leave it ‘connected’ to the previous track still.

I know this sounds odd, but you can see this happening if you load the G-Force visualisation, it keeps displaying when the next track begins to play, but there is no audio modulation on the visualisation after the first track ends. Clicking ‘previous track’ and then ‘next track’ re-starts the track, this time with the audio modulation visible.

No idea if this is fixable, but Microsoft must be able to trace the problem as it must be a result of a recent change or update. I have had the same issue with the visualizations stopping after single song play instead of continuing on like it did in the past for quite a while also and figured it was just due to updates after originally have windows 8 originally on my computer and then it updated so many times after it went to windows 10 and iis so frustrating but figured it was just a glitch and work it self out but still persists.

It still puzzles me. I just purchased a new computer with windows 10 built in and got done putting my music set up and it wasn’t the old computer after all. I love the computer so I will just have to not use the fun visualizations I used to like about windows media player. No, I use the visualization in Windows Media Player for private applications. Playing an mp3 playlist, visualization with G-Force via a projector. It is not really understandable that Microsoft obviously no longer maintains Windows Media Player.

Many users therefore have to switch to alternative applications such as the very old Winamp, MediaMonkey or iTunes. On the right hand side it will show a number in pixel rate,… delete entry , and then input , then save or apply. Go back, and restart vlc with a song, and enjoy the show. Gotta say this is pretty upsetting. VLC is great, but why disable Milkdrop and then just leave users hanging with no word of an update. I even have a bag filled with all types of 3D glasses imaginable that I have collected over the years, which always helped things. I had not yet been seduced by VLC, hook, line, and sinker.

I mean…. VLC will let you watch a movie clip while putting it together as a jigsaw puzzle, for crying out loud! Does anyone have any solutions when it comes to the Visualization dilemma?

Kindly take the time to read the full thread before posting, yet again, that this does not work for you. Your mileage may vary. So how do we operate on the menu problem. Is there a way this could be offered as a plugin that would work in the plugin folder where visualizations currently are? Followed all instructions, using latest version.

Under Preferences, simple, audio tab, selected LibprojectM under visualization dropdown menu. I can select projectM, and fill in the path, as instructed. Problem: When playing an audio file, if I select the Audio dropdown menu, and select visualizations, it does NOT show projectM in the list of avaliable visualizations! The dir. I just did this and it completely broke VLC… I will have to clean reinstall….

Hi friends. The project download is a. ProjectM disabled in VLC 2. I think the problem is due to the Version 2. In my opinion it can not be due to 32bit or 64bit because of projectM there is no own 64bit version. Under 2. A transmission of the error is not possible. Before that, I always used the 32bit version.

I tried again with the 32bit version 2. My advice: Get an old version or wait for the 3. Perhaps the proectM support comes back.
